What a difference a year makes

Here is Adlai a year ago.

Here he is now, playing hockey with Daddy and Kaya.

Happy first birthday Adlai

Adlai and Daddy examine the triple layer secret chocolate cake that I baked the night before. Surprisingly, Adlai was not at all concerned by a group of friends and family gathered around him singing Happy Birthday. He slept through the first half of his party but woke up in time for cake and presents.

Cousins and birthdays

Allie, Kaya, Natasha, Adlai and I almost all fit in or on the doughnut.

Kaya was happy to celebrate Eveylyn's first birthday with Fraser's homemade banana cake with chocolate icing.

Our little man turns one and I can hardly believe that a whole year has gone by.

Natasha's visit

We welcomed Ryan, Billie and Natasha to our home. It was the first time the cousins all met one another and they had a great time.

Sledding

The kids had almost as much fun as Patrick and I sledding down the hills. By the end of a few runs, Adlai was particularly tuckered out from all the squealing in delight.

Great-Grandma's car continues to be a favourite!
