Adlai's first time skating

Adlai thought skating was hilarious. He would flail about on purpose just to feel the slipping of the ice under his feet. When he was focusing on getting to me, he could actually take steps. We had a great time on the rink all to ourselves and it was a lovely Crampton Christmas tradition in the making.

We went for an enjoyable set of rides down the hill near the buffalo. Adlai was pretty proud of his riding ability. Kaya was intrigued by the girls sledding on their own.

Adlai is so intent on reading and "doing it myself."I love his little feet open just like the book.

Bapu made Adlai sport the sweetest little mischevious smile while reading a bed time story.

Kaya still loves the baby card that sings, "What a wonderful world."

I tried to catch the kids in that beautiful morning light. Kaya showed off her comfy coat from our neighbours.

Adlai was allowed to come to preschool for Kaya's class Christmas party. They both coloured at the tables and Adlai was inordinately proud of himself.

Santa appeared and the kids stuck to me like Velcro. Kaya and her friend held hands and sang us Christmas carols in French, including, "Petit Papa Noel." It brought back my own childhood memories of Christmas.

The kids hung in for zoo lights and commented excitedly when the snowbirds flew overhead on their way to the Grey Cup.

Grandma also braved the snowy roads to spend time with her grandkids. She was an instant hit as soon as she walked in the door.

I bought Adlai downstairs to play with Kaya and Allie. Allie promptly welcomed him and gave him a kiss. He looked bemused.
