Birthday and Father's Day

Kaya showed off her new little blue dress...

and her blueberry tongue, teeth, lips and fingers.

She is taking after the artists in the family.

Adlai is five months old now and trying to sit up. He loves to use his newfound voice and is making all manner of squeals.

She loved the horses and animatedly recounts how they came up to see her at the fence.

Kaya is learning to jump with two feet.


Adlai is 4 months old now and weighs 16 pounds. He is quite good at sitting in the bumbo for short periods of time.

Kaya is still slim enough to fit in the bumbo too.

Adlai finally rides in the chariot instead of in the wrap.

Kaya can now sing "the itsy bitsy spider" and parts of "happy birthday" and "the hokey pokey."

Mothers' Day weekend

Peas in a pod

Adlai and Kaya -- my two little peas in a pod.

Now that spring is tentatively arriving, Kaya is fascinated by ladybugs, butterflies, bees and other little critters. She likes her ladybug pajamas too.

She has started gymnastic and swimming lessons on the weekends. She has a great time walking the balance beam, jumping, and doing the splits at home.

Kaya wanted us to take a "picture of Kaya eating strawberries."

Adlai is showing more and more of his personality these days.

Kaya takes to reading on her own when we are busy.

Growing

It has been almost three months now since Adlai arrived into our family. At 11 weeks he weighs in at just over 14 pounds and has almost doubled his birth weight already!


Kaya is our little lightweight but she has come a long way from her 4 pounds at birth.


For now, they both fit snugly in my arms.


Kaya enjoys a friendly cuddle with her little brother. Notice the one sock that she triumphantly put on by herself.

Adlai seems to be all smiles and laughs these days and enjoys playing peek-a-boo with Daddy, chuckling and wiggling in delight.

Little charmers and snowmen

Adlai is already a little charmer and smiles all the time for Mommy.


Kaya likes to "sit together with bears" these days.


After the big thunder snowstorm we made a snowman.


Kaya made him a snow hat.

Laughing out loud

Adlai wears his first pair of baby jeans!

His first laugh out loud was at the dangling lion in his activity center.


Kaya likes to make music with her octopus cymbals and fish shaker from Jess. She also loves to sing along to "The Lion Sleeps Tonight."
