Summer days

Adlai is discovering that he can move a bit. Mainly he tries to hop with his back legs.

Kaya stands by her second collage. (Her first piece of art is decorating Daddy's desk at work.)

Adlai and Kaya enjoyed a particularly warm day in the backyard.

A little modern Marilyn Monroe.

My first high heels

Kaya decided, entirely of her own accord, to put on her cabbage patch kid doll's socks and shoes.

She then tried to stand up.

Carefully.
She got a kick out of balancing on the heels.

And made her way out into the world.

Camping in B.C.

We stopped in Lake Louise. Kaya sports her see-through raincoat and Adlai is a good sport on the journey through the mountains.

We showed the children our disappearing glaciers.

Kaya was suitably impressed at the size of the hydroelectric dam.

Kaya and Ramona had their own little tent.

Thanks to Daddy's ingenuity, Adlai was able to jolly jump in the great outdoors. Notice in the video how he has worn away his own little jump pad.

Sutherland Falls was beautiful.

Kaya survived the heat in halter tops but the temperature in the tent trailer was close to 38 degrees!

Adlai loves swinging.

My two kids giggled up a storm.

Sitting on my own

Adlai now sits upright and only topples over when reaching for something interesting nearby.

Kaya does some tummy time with her brother.

Adlai practices in the big kid highchair.

Kaya still sports her bum genius cloth diapers but she is starting to ask to use her potty now.

My first vegetable

Adlai was all ready to go in the highchair. His first veggie was strained peas. It went over (not necessarily down) relatively well.

Kaya loved camping in the tent trailer.

Adlai and Patrick were pretty happy about being in the great outdoors as well.

Kaya enjoyed the view at the campsite.

As Kaya would say, "picture of Kaya and Adlai sitting together."

Pink babies

My two pink-hued kids in their Ikea tent in the backyard.

Adlai is 6 months old, weighs 17 pounds 6 ounces, and is 27 and 3/4 inches long. He is cutting his two bottom teeth and is rolling about with abandon. He can rock on hands and knees and has a strong set of vocal cords!

My little model, striking a pose for photos.

Uncle B attempted a nap but his niece and nephew wanted to join him on the couch.

Grandma Jan knows how to get Adlai chuckling.

Our first family camping trip

Adlai stayed warm in the tent trailer with his sleep sack and our portable electric heater.

Kaya and I went to check out the playground, eating cherries along the way.

If only we had trees big enough for a hammock in our yard!

Kaya had a wonderful time "swinging higher" thanks to Patrick's ingenuity.
