Phase 1

We are impressed at the retaining wall.

Everyone pitched in to regrade and spread new soil.

Digging

We marked off the new flower beds in spray paint.

Here is a "before" shot of the front bed.

Each rock weighs over 3,000 pounds but it was easy work for an experienced bobcat driver.

The main rocks in the retaining wall are in place and the sod is scraped off the surface of our yards.

Calm before the storm

Adlai sleeps with his hands behind his head in classic relaxation pose.

Here begins our foray into landscaping our front yard.

The kids are quite impressed at the bobcat tearing up the lawn and digging a trench.

Daddy the alien

Kaya announced that she was making Daddy into an alien.

She carefully placed rainbow coloured foamies all accross his face like a visor.

Then Dadddy returned the favour.

Street hockey

Adlai wanted to participate in the neighbourhood street hockey game so badly. He did his best to chase the ball with the other boys.

He finally graduated to holding his own hockey stick.

Cool dudes

Kaya propped up the donut and decided to float sideways.

Adlai gives his impish grin as he climbs on yet another chair.

Kaya sports her new MEC sunglasses and Pipi Longstocking braids.

Easter morning

The children were ready at the starting gate for the great Easter egg hunt to begin. Kaya led the charge with her basket in hand, scooping up the trail of eggs.

Adlai had his first taste of chocolate. His expression was priceless - wonder then delight. Here he is victoriously holding up smarties.
