Adlai grins at us from his perch on the exercise bike while Kaya watches the Land Before Time.

We had a bad run of non-stop illness between Patrick, Kaya, Adlai and myself. Grandpa came over to lift Kaya's spirits and she ended up lifting his ice cream cake.

The girls had a joint birthday party. Auntie Melynda made a beautiful ladybug cake and cupcakes. Kaya gave the bear a high five but was quite concerned about the fire risk from the sparklers on her cake.

Snowflake fairies and other flights of fancy

Kaya's ballet class hosted their first recital. It was one of the cutest darn things I've seen. They flew to never-never land, opened magic scarf flowers, hatched their eggs, and twirled parasols as snowflake fairies.

Spring thaw

We biked with the chariot on a windy day down to the Bow River. Little exclaimations of "big one, wow" emanated from Kaya and Adlai as they tossed rocks into the river.
