My Valentine

Kaya received a real kiss and some chocolate kisses from Grandma Maihaa.

Kaya helped grind some coffee and decided to sample the grounds.

The early days

Adlai is a great little eater. At his two week checkup, he had gained an amazing 1lb 7 oz to weigh in at 8lbs 10oz.

Kaya is adjusting to life with a little brother and has started to give Adlai kisses before she goes to bed. She generally wants to make sure he is well cared for by providing a running commentary of what he is doing ('baby cry', 'baby burp', 'baby nap', 'baby bum', 'baby puke' ... you get the picture).

Welcome to the world, Adlai!

On Wednesday, January 23 at 1:20pm, we welcomed our son, Adlai (pronounced Ad-lay) Charles Alexander Crampton into the world. We laboured at home and narrowly avoided delivering our son in the car during the mad dash to the hospital. Adlai weighed in at 7lbs 3 oz and was 20 inches long shortly after emerging from the tub where he was born.

Sharing in our joy (and helping immensely) were Melynda and our midwives, Theresa and Luba. The birth was a very powerful and moving experience for all of us.

Kaya's tutu

Kaya received a beautiful handmade purple tutu from Abi in Arizona. Kaya excitedly ran around the kitchen exclaiming, "tutu, tutu" for about 10 minutes. Thank you Abi!

Looking Back on Christmas 2007

Christmas this year was a lot of fun for us, especially since Kaya was such a joy to be around and had so much fun opening her (and everyone else's) presents. With each new present, she would chuckle and then rip away. Among her favourite gifts were the tunnel from Santa, tent from Grandpa Bert, the art easel from Uncle B, the puppies playhouse from Grandma Jan and her horses from Uncle Ryan and Auntie Billie. Here are some fun pics taken during the holidays.

Happy New Year

If you had asked me yesterday, I would have said that it is unlikely that we (The Crampton Clan) would ever have a blogspot. What a difference a New Year can make!

We're going to give this thing a try out and see if it really is as easy as everyone says so that we can keep our family and friends that we do not see often enough up to date with photos and posts. I hope you all enjoy!
